El Mango served as both a coffee farm and the family home for several years. However, as Gilberto’s children grew up, pursuing an education meant leaving the farm. With his wife and kids now living hours away in the city, Gilberto remains committed to the farm. He recognizes the value of the extremely fertile soil and boasts that he has not used chemical fertilizer in over five years.
This coffee consistently impresses year after year. It is one of our all time favorites and we are excited for future as the upcoming year will bring the first yield from the gesha varietals planted. Gilberto also plans to use the natural process method on part of his next harvest.
