Luis was born and raised in Huesaco, Nariño and he learned all about farming coffee from his parents. He then expanded his coffee knowledge with a degree in environmental engineering. He currently works with a coffee company, advising them on how to produce coffee in a sustainable way.
At home, on El Aguacate, Luis grows caturra, castillo, and colombia varietals. He lives and works on the farm with his wife Diana and their son Luis. Hopeful that his son will continue the family legacy in the coffee growing industry, he is trying to implement all the tools to sustainably produce high quality coffee now. He sees a promising future in the specialty coffee industry and wants to set his son up for success!
