WHO WE ARE

Arango Specialty Coffee is a family owned business specializing in the importation of high quality single origin green coffee. Deeply rooted in the coffee growing industry, the founders are all children of coffee farmers. We have experienced the lifestyle firsthand – harvesting, processing, transporting. What we have also experienced is the coffee culture that has developed around the world. With consumers seeking to be more informed, the name, face, and story behind the coffee becomes increasingly important. We are grateful to have the opportunity to connect our farming community with specialty roasters, building relationships that allow both ends of the supply chain to prosper.

WHAT WE DO

We offer single origin coffee and the story behind it. The growers are the heart and soul of our business. Our goal is to put the individual’s name and face on his product and a fair wage in his pocket. Quality deserves to be rewarded with honest pricing. This transparency benefits both ends of the supply chain. Growers get an incentive to continue producing high quality beans and consumers receive a superior quality coffee.

WHY WE DO IT

A steaming cup of coffee is as emblematic of the morning as sunrise. Some people slowly savor a warm mug while awakening for the day ahead. Others grab a cup on the go as an eventful day unfolds before them. Throughout the day there may be a coffee break with friends, a mid afternoon pick me up, a savory cup after dinner. The roles of coffee in our society are endless.

Now imagine you are getting up to spend your day harvesting coffee. Working meticulously from morning until night. Handpicking cherries, hauling sacks back to be washed, laying the beans on the patio to dry, transporting the final product via horseback over mountainous terrain and ultimately selling them to a co-op for the same price every farmer receives, regardless of quality.

This type of subsistence farming has left coffee growers behind in this booming industry. At Arango Specialty Coffee we are striving to create value from seed to cup through lasting relationships. We want to bridge the gap between the coffee growers and the marketplace.

Our comprehensive goal is to empower the growers through long term relationships. This support will not only allow for advancement in coffee quality, but also for an improved standard of living.
